SONS OF ANGELS

SONS OF ANGELS

Sons of Angels is a Norwegian/Swedish hard rock band that were active in the end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's, featuring Hans Olav Solli on vocals, Staffan Willaim-Olsson on guitars, bassplayer Torstein, keyboardplayer Lars Kilevold and drummer Geir Digernes.
The band came out of a ten day trip to Los Angeles with a demo (they called it “the gold digger-trip”!!). They had one name in their pocket when they came to L.A but the response they received was so immediate and overwhelming that it seemed like everyone who heard it called everyone they knew.
After one week, there was a rumour in the record-business in L.A saying "There's three Norwegians in town with a tape that burns"!! They figured that the really interested labels would come to Oslo and see them live so they put up a gig in Oslo and MCA, Atlantic and Warner came. MCA were represented by the president himself, Al Teller, together with three people from other territories! The people from the Norwegian record-industry who attended the show were stunned when they saw who was there. Finally Sons Of Angels signed on Atlantic and they came back to U.S.A to record their first album with the producer Kevin Elson (Journey, Mr Big, Europe…). They released their first self-titled album in 1990 on May 11. They weren't very well known but their first record managed to sell over 150 000 copies. They had a bit of success with the album's single and first track - "Cowgirl" Cowgirl was the very first song they did and it became kind of anthem. On the 10 tracks, we find as well the sadness Lonely Rose and one groovy song inspired by the love of Lars Kilevold for Prince (Trance Dance). Unfortunately the deal with Atlantic ended in April 1991. Sons Of Angels wanted to get out of the deal because they were not satisfied with the way Atlantic hand the alb
